Can you feel it?
It’s in the wind.
The wind is changing.
Tides are turning, washing it ashore.
It’s hidden in plain sight, tangled in tendrils of light.
You see it in the corner of your eye, wisps that fade in and out of view.
It’s making its way through the land, running through that girl’s long hair.
You can feel it in the darkness, like a soft orb of light.
You can’t see it, but it’s surely there.
It’s within reach, if you stretch out far enough.
Grab it, cradle it in the cup your palms form.
It’ll slip through the cracks between your fingers, oh yes, if you’re not careful.
Falling to the ground, leaving a faint ink of where it once was.
So be sure to keep it, embrace it.
Carefully fold it under the layers of your skin, tuck it between the crevices of your heart.
And it’ll be here to stay.
